In a sector as demanding as PVC injection<\/strong>, the reliability and strength of equipment make all the difference. This is the case of PLIMAT<\/strong>, a Portuguese company specialising in plastic fittings that decided to invest in automation to optimise its production. However, the journey was not without technical challenges until the solution developed jointly with AGI<\/strong> and WEMO<\/a><\/strong> was achieved.<\/p>\n

The challenge: premature wear caused by a highly aggressive PVC process<\/strong><\/h4>\n

PLIMAT had invested in robots to automate part extraction and improve productivity. However, the aggressive nature of the PVC injection process caused accelerated wear in key components, especially in the robots\u2019 prismatic guides.
\nThis premature wear threatened the continuity of automated production, increased the need for maintenance, and reduced the equipment\u2019s lifespan. A robust and long-lasting solution was needed\u2014one capable of withstanding extreme conditions without compromising efficiency.<\/p>\n

The AGI + WEMO solution: customised robots with high-resistance materials<\/strong><\/h4>\n

To overcome this challenge, PLIMAT collaborated with WEMO \u2014 represented in Spain and Portugal by AGI \u2014 to develop a fully customised version of its robots.
\nThe key to the solution was the incorporation of high-resistance materials in critical areas, ensuring:
\n\u2022 Greater system durability
\n\u2022 Reduced component wear
\n\u2022 Fewer maintenance stops
\n\u2022 Reliable continuity of automated production<\/p>\n

Thanks to this technical adaptation, PLIMAT was able to maintain its investment in automation, even within an especially demanding industrial process.<\/p>\n
